A torn-up roofline after a storm isn't a "get to it next week" problem, and we don't treat it like one — Roof Repair Smedway answers, scopes the damage, and dispatches a crew across Castile fast.
Before Roof Repair Smedway was a name on a truck, our foremen were already up on ladders across Castile, NY, figuring out which shingle brands actually hold their seal through a rough season and which ones just look good in a showroom.
We don't treat licensing as a formality — it's proof that the person on your roof knows what they're doing and that you're covered if anything goes sideways.
A roof repair that's "close enough" tends to fail again within a year, usually during the exact storm it was supposed to handle. We don't build that way.
Documentation on request, no exceptions.
A midnight call gets the same urgency as a noon call.
You approve a number before the crew touches your roof.
We already know Castile's weather patterns and permit process.
Most emergency calls we get trace back to a smaller sign that went unnoticed for weeks or months.
Homeowners in Castile often mention they'd noticed something off months before calling — a stain that seemed to fade, a shingle that looked slightly out of place after a storm.
If the water coming off your downspouts looks gritty, the shingle surface is thinner than it should be.
Once a shingle starts warping, its seal against wind-driven rain is already compromised.
A gap that lets light through will let rain through eventually.
Stains grow slowly, which is exactly why they get ignored until they spread.
Rooms that run noticeably hotter than the rest of the house often trace back to roof or attic issues.
Exposed underlayment is only a temporary barrier — it's not built to handle sustained exposure.
Not every call needs the same fix, so we scope each Castile job individually instead of running everything through one generic quote.
Read through the categories and you'll usually recognize your own roof problem in one of them — that's intentional, since we scope calls the same way we've organized this list.
When wind or hail rips open a section of roofing, we tarp it fast to stop water intrusion, then schedule the permanent fix right behind it.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
We schedule commercial jobs to minimize disruption to tenants and foot traffic wherever possible.
We'll tell you honestly whether your roof needs a full replacement or just a targeted repair — we don't default to the bigger invoice.
Scheduled maintenance catches loose flashing and clogged valleys before the next storm turns them urgent.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general repair crews often miss.
Homeowners tell us the not-knowing is often worse than the repair itself, so we try to remove as much guesswork from the process as we can.
After-hours calls still reach a live line for anything time-sensitive.
You get a plain-language explanation, not just a number.
Every figure is documented in writing — nothing verbal, nothing vague.
Warranty paperwork is handed over the same day the job wraps.
None of these reasons are unique claims in the roofing industry on their own — what matters is that we actually deliver on all of them together, on every Castile job.
Crews based in Castile, NY reach Castile faster than out-of-area companies quoting a multi-week wait.
The number you approve in writing is the number on your final invoice, barring an approved scope change.
Our installers follow manufacturer spec on every underlayment overlap and fastener pattern, not general guesswork.
Every job includes a written labor warranty separate from the shingle manufacturer's coverage.
We've worked with enough local carriers to know what actually speeds up claim approval.
If a repair solves the problem, that's what we recommend — we don't push a replacement to inflate the invoice.
Our guarantee covers our labor specifically: if the completed work doesn't match the agreed scope, we correct it at no extra cost.
No surprise line items appear after the fact; anything that changes the scope gets discussed with you directly.
If you ever need to use the guarantee, the process is a phone call, not a fight.
If your address sits just past our standard Castile radius, dispatch can usually still work something out.
When a storm moves through Castile, NY and call volume spikes, active leaks get prioritized first while we communicate realistic wait times for everything else.
We'd rather confirm coverage on a quick call than have a homeowner assume they're out of range and skip calling entirely.
